Has this every happened to you?
- You’re at Disneyland and you are standing in line to get on your favorite ride and your kids are starting to get a little c r a z y!
This has happened to me- one to many times. We try to make it to the parks at least once a month and as some of you may know, my favorite time of the day to go is in the morning. The earlier the better. Once the crowds start to trickle in, it’s time for us to go home. The only ride my kids will actually wait in line for is Autopia. Other than that-my 6 year old son has become an avid reader of the “wait time” boards to check out the times.
In comes “Lots To Do In Line” by Meredith Lyn Pierce. Lots To Do In Line is a book completely dedicated to- you got it!- stuff to learn, see and do while waiting in line for your favorite rides at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
The book leaves no leaf unturned when it comes to keeping you and the kids entertained with trivia, treasure hunts and (in my opinion) lots and lots of pointing. The book highlights all 8 “lands” of Disneyland and basically all of Disney California Adventure.
I do have to say one thing about Disney California Adventure. Don’t be weary when it comes to finding the treasure hunt items at DCA. Besides all the constructions that is happening for the much anticipated opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, most of the challenges of the treasure hunts are found while waiting in line.
Ready for an example? Let’s take my favorite ride at Disneyland- Pirates of the Caribbean:
- There is a door with an address number on it. What is the number? a)33, b)37, c)48, d)50.
There are an average of 9-10 questions per ride. Questions can range from easy as the question above to questions about trying to figure out the names of certain characters while you are actually on the ride.
This book is perfect for both first time visitors and Disneyland aficionados. Whether you have little ones who can’t read or older kids who can lead the way, Lots To Do In Line is definitely one book to pack up for your visit to Disneyland Resort.
lf you are the kind of parent that pack everything but the kitchen sink whenever you make a trip out to the parks, Lots To Do In Line is also an iTunes App. With options to tap the correct answers AND have 4 players playing!
I feel the app is more practical because I always have my phone with me. But I will add that the book makes the thrill of the game a little more fun. Just make sure you bring extra pencils!
This is not a paid post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was given a free copy of the book and the app in exchange for this review. Much thanks to Meredith for allowing me the chance to review this purely awesome book. My visits to the park have never been the same.
