When was the last time you went to the movies? When my husband and I were newlyweds, we hardly went to the movies. We lived across the street from a theater but it would be years in between movies, before we would visit. Fast forward to now. We have a 16 year old, a 9 year old and an adorable almost 8 year old. They watch TV and of course, they see movie trailers. When they see a trailer of a movie they want to watch, they add it to the movie list.
What is a movie list?
Having to deal with three kids who want to see three different movies when we go to the theaters is tough and expensive. When we would go catch a movie, we would have the hardest time deciding what to watch. It was horrible. I would end up with crying kids or a moody teenager. So I created a movie list. Well, sorta. It’s more like a board with a bunch of sticky notes on there. But, it works.
Once we have to budget to go to the movies, we pick three movies that the kids want to watch. Of those three, they have to pick one movie. When no one will give in, then we have to sit and talk with Fandango Family on the computer so we can filter out what will be good for the little ones to watch and what will be too childish for the teen. See, this works because I have kids in different age groups.
This month was a no-brainer. We watched The Hunger Games: Mockingjay . Thank goodness, this was an easy decision! The kids and I binge-watched the movies during the summer and to finally watch the continuation was awesome.
