How Netflix is Made for Cuddles!
Weird title? Well, let me explain.
Since Tuesday, we’ve been sick. One of my three precious children brought home a stomach bug and we’ve been hit hard. It has hit us one by one. No, not all at once (which is good and bad. Bad in the sense that if I were sick while trying to care for sick kids, things would have been bad. Good in the sense that we’d all be sick all at once and then everything is over and done with.) You know what I mean?
So, what have we been doing these past few days?
Cuddling, hugging our chuck-bucket, and watching a lot of Netflix. My teen is the only one that has been saved but the little ones have sat and watched old TV shows we used to watch and some new movies that we have watched repeatedly since Tuesday.
My daughter binged on the My little Pony series but I was able to convince her to watch Stella Luna. Oh, this movie. So sweet and charming. This is the perfect movie for cuddles. Another movie we watched was The Princess Diaries 2. A Royal Engagement. Since I’ve waited on her, hand and foot, and calling her princess, I felt it was fitting for her royal highness.
With my son, cuddling with him is a little more different. My son gets really clingy when he’s sick. It was his idea to watch Dumbo. My mommy heart melted but I have to admit I quickly thought, really? Dumbo it is! If you’re a mom, I’m sure you’ll be able to relate to this movie. No matter how many times I watch this movie- I CRY. Like as if I was watching it for the very first time. When Dumbo swings on Mrs. Jumbo’s truck. GOOD LORD. But what I loved most was how my son related the movie to a mommy and son moment to us. Awww. I know. Wait ’til you hear what he wanted to watch next.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
What is he trying to do to me? Between me taking care of him from being sick and cuddling him while watching the movie, by the time Tod and Copper said they’d be bffs forever, I was a crying mess while silently praying that my son would be healed from his illness. I mean, how much more can a sensitive mom take? Come on, give me a break!
During my time of sickness, (cuz yes, the stomach bug lasted 24 hours for each of us) I was finally able to watch Chef! I’ve been meaning to see that movie since it came out on theaters, but now that I had time on my hands with the kids home from school, it was a great distraction. It almost made me want to open up a food truck. Have you seen it? And of course, I had my little girly movie moment with Dirty Dancing. I mean, how could I not, right? It’s a classic and it’s on right now.
With life on the fast lane, we tend to forget the impact movies and certain TV shows have on us. I will never see Dumbo the same way again. Oh, and I’m fully caught up My Little Pony.
Go ahead. Quiz me!
