Living in Southern California, we are spoiled with great weather, amazing beaches and mountains and of course, the abundant places to see and do. With the start of summer vacation, we have some activities lined up so that the routine of getting up and doing nothing, doesn’t take over our lives in the coming summer months. The kids seem to get bored so easily that it’s easy to plop them down in front of their devices and TV and just call it a day. My kids need entertainment. So, if entertainment is what they want, entertainment they shall get! And Discovery Cube OC is the place to be for family friendly, educational fun that the kids ( and yes, adults too!) and enjoy.
Discovery Cube has been a favorite of the kids for a while now. They visit this center on a yearly basis with their school on field trips. They can’t get enough of the different exhibits that they offer. And now, Discovery Cube OC has expanded to offer familias from all over SoCal even more educational fun! Check out what’s #NewAtTheCube!
The new Discovery Cube is now open, with exciting new science exhibits! It was all built with your kids in mind!
The new exhibits will give families hands-on permanent exhibits, themed science adventures, interactive programs and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning spaces. From your budding astronaut to the most curious of minds, there’s something there for every mind to explore!
Inspector Training Course – This immersive exhibit, presented by the Orange County Control District, has guests go on an adventure in their own backyard to find and eliminate invading vectors. Using a touch-screen tablet, guests will make their way through the Inspector Training Course to learn how to coexist with and keep their home free from mosquitos, fleas, and rodents in this competitive scavenger-hunt styled game! So much fun and it’s perfect for older kids!
Water Gallery – With Californians experiencing one of the worst droughts in history, the Gallery and Water Lab, presented by Pacific Life, will give families the opportunity to learn about one of nature’s most nourishing elements: water.
From salt water to fresh water, frozen water to water vapor, guests will be exposed to the scientific side of the H20 chemical formula in a fun and engaging manner.
A New place to eat! Bean Sprouts Café, a kid-friendly café and cooking school, specializes in healthy foods for visitors of all ages, supplements its regular menu with vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, casein-free, nut-free and egg-free options.
Visitors can order pizzas, soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts as well as “Imaginibbles,” a signature line of themed, hand-held foods designed to make eating healthy fun.
The Launch Pad Science Store is triple the size of the original and will feature promotional and educational merchandise.
The whole expansion is a wonderful addition to an already family favorite science center. If you’ve never been to Discovery Cube OC, I invite you to participate in an incredible giveaway we have going on RIGHT NOW! Enter for a chance to win a 1 (one) year family membership to enjoy Discovery Cube!
