What was my Shelfie? Once Upon a Time on Netflix!
Having Netflix at the ready can help when the kids want to watch something other than TV. It’s at the ready for when my husband gets home and just wants to kick back, on the couch and watch his shows. For me, I love watching my favorite movies and shows on Netflix, but most of all, I have it on, while I work.
I used to watch Grey’s Anatomy. Like, all the time. I can’t even tell you the number of times I’ve watched Greys on Netflix from beginning to end. I had it on, just to have it on. I’m not actually watching (even though there are some episodes where I do have to stop and watch) the show, it’s just comforting to have something familiar playing in the background. Is that weird to admit?
Well, if you are a Greys fan, as much as I *WAS*, then you know about what happened to McDreamy. Yes, Derick Shepherd as killed off the show and I STILL HAVEN’T GOTTEN OVER IT. So, in protest, I don’t watch re-runs anymore. I just can’t face the truth yet. And yes, I had to cross him out, because I can’t even look at him. This is why I can’t watch. I am mad and I can’t stand to look at Derick Shepherd right now. I just can’t.
I can’t. ):
So, I switched shows. I went to my second favorite show of all time, Call the Midwife. I LOVE THIS SHOW. I can’t stop talking about it, I can’t stop watching, I can’t stop streaming and I love Netflix for it. There are now, only 3 seasons on Netflix, but just as with Greys, I watch and re-watch the show. I officially know some of the lines (hello? yes, even in a English accent!) and all is well, until they get new episodes.
What’s a shelfie you ask? We all have them – they’re the shows you’ve been wanting to watch but they’ve been sitting on the virtual shelf because…well, because you’re a parent and who has the time?
Recently, I discovered another show. This is my “shelfie!” Once Upon a Time. As you may know, I’m a huge Disneyland fan, so anything Disney catches my attention. I know the show has been on for a while, but I just never brought myself to watch it. Then my daughter saw the title on Netflix and wanted to watch it. I saw the first episode with her and then the second and well, as they say, the rest it history!
I can’t stop watching it now. It’s gotten to the point where I watch it without her! When she’s in school, I watch it. Friends, Netflix binges are a real struggle.
Someone, anyone, please stop me!!
So, tell me! What is your Shelfie? Which show are you dying to watch?
