Officially done: My first Passport!

Azul, dolfees party 006

On Wednesday of last week, for the very first time EVER, I applied for my U.S. passport.   I’ve never had one before. Back in the days of international travel, all that was needed was a birth certificate (yes, that was the last time I traveled abroad).  Since I’ve never left the states since I was in high school, I’ve never needed a passport. Until now. Let me just say that it was a surreal event. I feel so official. Official {Read More}

Field Day with Walt Disney Studios, Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner

Last week, I got to spend some time outdoors with the kids. It was nice to go outside and have some fun since the kids have been sitting at home for a while now. Walt Disney Studios and Frigidaire teamed up with Jennifer Garner (a Frigidaire ambassador) for some play time with several families and their kids and learn all about getting dirty and clean.  Something we moms know way too much.   Jennifer Garner was also there to talk {Read More}

4 years and counting…

4 years ago, I started blogging.  I first started off on MySpace and then graduated to blogger and now here.  These past 4 years have been nothing short of amazing.  From meeting online friends who have become more than hermanas to trips that have taken me across the nation and beyond. I have slowly been making changes to better myself and the blog.  Have you noticed?  Although I have reached success in working with brands, I really miss the personal {Read More}

Look, Mommy!

Something astonishing happened over the weekend.  My little ones learned how to ride a bike!  Both of them!  My daughter keep telling me that she learned how to ride a bike, but I didn’t think that it was without training wheels. Yesterday, when I got back from church I saw her and my son riding the bikes without training wheels!  Here’s the kicker:  I didn’t teach them how to ride nor did my husband.  My teen son was the one {Read More}

iPad craziness!

I am going crazy with my iPad.  Wait.  Let me re-phrase that:  My kids are going CRAZY over the iPad!  If I thought that it was bad before, I don’t know what it is about this summer vacation that has them going insane with this go-forsaken gadget! When I take away the iPad the next thing they ask for is my phone!  I am 1 octave shy of screaming NO!!!  Go out and play!  Play with the darn toys that {Read More}

It’s like… magic!

Where do all the spoons and forks go?  It’s like the flippen socks! We are left with 5 forks and 5 spoons, exactly.  Can you believe that? I mean, I normally clear the table after dinner,  so I can’t even blame the kids!   Please tell me this happens at your house, too! If I ever invite you over for sinigang or adobo, just remember… It’s BYOS&F!

They just don’t make them the way they used to…

Seriously?  Do I change the kid or the shoe brand? I don’t know what to think?  This is my 7 year old’s shoe. Vans, to say the least. Either shoe companies need to make shoes “kid” tough, including skateboard, scooter and bike friendly, or I need to send the kid out in chanclas. Sheesh!

You’re so vain, mija!

I am not a vain person.  I hardly wear makeup and I can go a long time without buying clothes. I think during my youth, I never really did go after brand name items.  I was happy with what I had and where it was bought. My nena on the other hand, is getting a little vain.  She’s only 5 years old! We recently paid a visit to the beauty salon where she had a hair cut. Oh BOY did {Read More}
