Giveaway Closed. Winner is Lynda!!
There is nothing better in life than using your talents to better the life of someone else. Whether it be through donations or volunteering, these acts of kindness are always welcomed by those who need it.
Denisse Montalvan is Chief Inspired Visionaire, founder of The Orphaned Earring. She is a PR gal I met through the blog and I have kept a friendship with her beyond the boundaries of blogging. She has surpassed the calling of “doing something about it” and has acted out on an adventure that has truly come out of compassion and love.
The Orphaned Earring is a charity blog dedicated to bringing arts and crafts as well as year-round festivities to four orphanages in Latin America. How do they do it, you ask? She collects earrings that you and I may have that we no longer use. You may have a mis-matched pair or a broken earring or as the title cleverly states, an orphaned earring. By collecting these orphaned earrings and unwanted jewelry, they re-purposes the materials and create bracelets to sell. One-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit not only the orphanages but their surrounding communities.
Beautiful. And freaking clever!
See, it doesn’t take much to do a lot for others. So, how can you help Denisse and her mission on The Orphaned Earring? It’s simple and easy.
Look in your home for orphaned earrings or unwanted jewelry, put them in an envelope and send them to:
The Orphaned Earring
P.O. Box 1565
Hawthorne, CA 90251
What will Denisse and her team do next? They create beautiful bracelets with your earring and then sell it.
If you have a special piece of jewelry that you simply can’t depart from, but you have no use for it now, you can send it in, they will craft it for you and you buy it back. Again, all proceeds will be donated. Okay, there. I’ve given you all the info you need to make your special donation. All you have left to do is donate and tell all your BFFs about this wonderful charity and tell them to donate and or buy some pretty bracelets.
Denisse, I am very proud of what you are doing. You are a blessing to those who you are trying to help. May the good Lord honor your work as you set out to help those little nenes in Guatemala. God bless you, amiga.
