Giveaway closed: Winner is Mary C.!
This is a sponsored post with ConAgra Foods and The Motherhood. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Last month I wrote about the initiatives with Child Hunger Ends Here and ConAgra Foods. I hope you remember to keep entering your codes into the tracker on my sidebar! Just enter 1 code and that will equal 1 meal. Yup, it’s that simple.
The school year is about to close and I am happy that I get a break from busing the kids around and scared at the fact that I’m going to have all three of them home.
As sarcastic as that may sound, the end of the school year means the start of something we all soon forget. Child hunger.
During the school year, 21.5 million children rely on free or reduced-price meals to help them keep from going hungry. When school is out, only 2.3 million children participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This means there are millions of children at an increased risk of hunger during the summer. You can help by purchasing participating ConAgra Foods products and entering those codes to trigger meal donations.
The thought of a child being hungry is heartbreaking. This is one topic we rarely mention with all the end-of-year hubbub. This is where Child Hunger Ends Here steps in to try and help the kids who will be struggling with hunger, this summer. ConAgra Foods created the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign to help end the issue of child hunger in America.
But, they really need our help! How can you help?
It’s so incredibly easy. See the red pushpin in the sidebar? Look for the red pushpin in grocery stores and purchasing specifically marked packages of 19 select ConAgra Foods brands, like this:
Then, by visiting www.facebook.com/ChildHungerEndsHere orwww.ChildHungerEndsHere.com, you can enter the eight-digit code found on the package. OR, better yet, take a look at my sidebar! You can enter your code, right here on the blog.
For every code entered by 8/31/13, ConAgra Foods will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
The 2013 Child Hunger Ends Here campaign is also supported by musical artists lending their voices to spread awareness for child hunger:
- Carly Rae Jepsen
- Tori Kelly
- Amber Riley
- Cody Simpson

Childhood hunger is heartbreaking and unconscionable here in a country with such abundance. Good nutrition is crucial to healthy child development–their potential as adults depends on it.

Because it unbearable to think of children going hungry. Children are innocent and don’t deserve to have to deal with things like this. A child should be able to get up knowing that they are going to have enough to eat that day.
