Let’s Go To Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor!

If you’re looking for a scary, freak-me-out Halloween event, you have GOT to check out Dark Harbor at The Queen Mary in Long Beach. I’ve been to this iconic place several times in my lifetime and while it’s always been a pleasant one, this was by far the BEST visit EVER.

So, what is Dark Harbor?

Dark Harbor brings the real haunted history of The Queen Mary to life, offering an unforgettable, authentically frightening experience. This annual event kicks off runs for 20 haunted evenings through November 2 from 7 p.m. to midnight.  This is not your ordinary Halloween scare event. Two mazes run through the inner bowels of the legendary haunted ship. It’s freaking amazing.  The mazes take you through places inside the queen mary that normally is closed off to the general public.

Visit Queen Mary's Dark Harbor!

The Queen Mary is already spooky. I’ve seen dozens of “haunted places” show that feature the grand ship. When I was invited, I seriously couldn’t wait to get into the ship.  When you arrive, there are several mazes to scare the heck out of you outside the ship. But to be honest, they really don’t compare to the mazes inside the ship.  When we went, the weather was almost playing a huge part in the eeriness of the whole experience. It was stuffy and humid inside the ship. You go down some stairs and through pitch black areas that leave you taking baby steps because of how dark it is through the close quarters you are in. It’s just awesome. I could go through these mazes over and over again.

Also during Dark Harbor 2014, you can be a part of Exclusive Encounter aboard the Queen Mary ship that will require a signed waiver to participate. This new, exclusive experiment in horror puts guests in an intimate and frightening setting that will leave a lasting impression jarring extreme fear. Well. it’s not that bad, but if you suffer from claustrophobia, then this experience is not for you.

Ticket prices start at just $20 online, with Fast Fright (A MUST!!!), VIP Passes, and lodging packages available. Season passes are also an option for optimal adrenaline seekers.
