Local Eats: El Amerikano in Fullerton, Ca
If you’re looking for a new restaurant to check out in OC, you must take a trip up to north county to a fun college-town, Fullerton. I live close to Fullerton and there are times when I envy the cool, hip and delicious places to eat off of Harbor Blvd.
Every time I drive to Disneyland, I drive through Fullerton and it’s always bustling with shoppers. Especially at night. The tree lined street is covered with sparkling lights and music can be heard from the different bars that play music through DJs and live music.
Last week I had the chance to check out El Amerikano. Its focus is New American Cuisine with a Latin influence. Let me first say that we only had a little sneak peek of what Executive Chef Konstantine Marougas had just released. I left this place wanting sooooo much more.
I loved everything that was served to us. The whole menu looks amazing, and it was hard to pick these three MUST-EAT menu items, but when you try these dishes, you will not be disappointed. The Ceviche Salad has no fish, but the ingredients are fresh and work together to give you the most amazing blend of flavors. It’s real good all alone. Yum!
I don’t like Brussel Sprouts. But OMGOSH, I can so eat a whole plate of these Brussel Sprouts served with chorizo, crema fresca, almonds, cotija cheese and jalapeños. Also, the Al Pastor Chop is mouthwatering. Simply delicious.
What I also enjoyed most about these dishes was that I know my kids will eat the food. Especially the steak. Still, before serving anything to your kids, make sure you ask the waiter to see if it’s the right choice for you little ones. I hope you make it out to check out El Amerikano in beautiful OC!
El Amerikano is located at 100 South Harbor Blvd., Suite D and is open daily from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
This is not a paid post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was invited to a media event in which we had the pleasure of tasting this scrumptious meal.
