There’s something special that happens when you get together with your familia to have supper together. It could be any day of the week, but of course, if your family is anything like mine, then you know of the importance of Sunday Dinners. It’s the one time in your busy week in which your loved ones come over to your house (or grandma’s) and sits and enjoy the company of each other. Do you celebrate Sunday dinners? Brunos, in Brea, Ca invites you to do just that.
Sure, any restaurant can serve you dinner, but at Brunos, it’s like hosting dinner in your own home. Sunday Dinners at Brunos gives you and your family the opportunity to eat “Family Style.” What does that mean?
Do you like Polenta? Polenta is a traditional Italian side dish made with stoneground cornmeal, olive oil, Parmesan and creamy fontina cheeses. As far as I can remember, this was my first encounter with Polenta, and I am so glad I was able to taste the Polenta from Brunos.
A very generous portion of polenta is set out for your entire party to share. Each guest may choose a protein and a vegetable to go with a Protein choices include:
- Nonna Maria’s meatballs
- Wild boar sausage
- Short ribs with roasted mushrooms
- Chicken puttanesca
- Shrimp scampi
I had the chance to taste the menu and the food, mixed with great company, was fantastic. The meatballs were tender and juicy. The sausage was flavorful, the shrimp was succulent and the ribs and chicken were amazing as well. I think my favorite was the sausage. I loved how well it tasted with the polenta.
Along with your protein, you get a choice of Vegetables! They include
- Brussels sprouts
- Kale with pancetta
What I love about this dinner is that each person can select what they want to eat and the option is always there to share! My cousin and I had a little bit of everything and wow, were we FULL!
I love the idea of sitting with friends or family and talking and laughing, all the while enjoying great, homemade, comfort food.
This is not a paid post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was invited to an exclusive event to facilitate this review. Thank you so much, Brunos!
