Let’s Fight Hunger with Walmart!

As a participant in this campaign with Walmart, I have received compensation for my time and efforts in creating this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I shop at my local Walmart several times a week, if not, every other day. I get our daily essentials like milk, food and general household items.  There’s isn’t one week in which at least one child is with me to go grocery shopping. Generally I like to go without the kids because they are more of a distraction than some help, if you know what I mean. But when they do tag along, all I hear is “Mommy, I want this and Mom can I get that.”  When it comes to food, and it’s something I know they will enjoy and actually eat, then I will oblige and get it for them.  But there are times in which I won’t because I know for a fact they won’t eat it.

Let's Fight Hunger with Walmart!

See friends, I have that option. There are people in our community who don’t. Kids who can’t get their daily needs met because their providers cannot afford to supply their basic needs. And yes, that may include food.  This is where Walmart and  we, as moms and providers who can afford to help, can join together and help those families in need by purchasing products we already buy on any given day.

Do you have any of these products on your shopping list?

  • Family Size Honey Nut Cheerios
  • Hellmanns Real Mayonnaise
  • Goldfish Cheddar Box
  • KRAFT Singles

How can you help? There are three, super easy ways to help:

  • 1 purchased item. By purchasing one of the items listed above (or on the list provided here) it will equal 1 meal*
  • Donate at the register.  You can give monetary donations of $1, $2, or $5 to your local Feeding America Food Bank at the register of any participating Walmart.
  • #WeSparkChange! Ready to get social?! Round up your 6 friends, family or co-workers and share your smileswithWalmart!
    • Upload your photo to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter
    • Use the hashtag #WeSparkChange
    • Make your photo “Public”

Walmart will donate $10, up to $1,500,000, to Feeding America for every post shared, so get snapping (follow these hashtags on social media #WeSparkChange and #Shop2Give) and let’s go shopping. Together we can help fight hunger!

*$1 helps provide 10 meals.1 meal is equivalent to $0.10. Secured by Feeding AmericaⓇ on behalf of local member food banks. See Walmart.com/FightHunger for details.
