La India Maria’s Last Movie: La Hija de Moctezuma
Growing up Latina has my life filled with beautiful memories. From learning Spanish through my parents and eating some of the best foods on earth to watching novelas and enjoying music. One memory that stands out is our love for La India Maria. Oh, man is that woman funny! We went to the theater to watch her movies, and whenever they were featured on Spanish-language TV. She was my favorite actress back then. We could laugh for hours on end. Last May, unfortunately, she passed away, but before she did, she made one last movie.
La Hija de Moctezuma is the final film of beloved actress and comedian Maria Elena Velazco, famous for portraying the character “La India Maria,” before her recent passing in May of this year. This was also her first big screen appearance after 15 years, and her son Iván Lipkies, directed the film.
Check this out if you want to see La India Maria rap. Yes, I said RAP! omgosh! HAHAH!!!
All her movies were crazy and zany. I think this is what we all loved about her. La Hija de Moctezuma is set to be released by Cine Latino this Sunday!
@ 4pm & 8pm
