Delicious Chicken and Sausage Pasta for Dinner!
This is a sponsored post with Grocery Outlet. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There’s nothing better and an easy, go-to recipe for dinner. If I could have simple, easy ingredients and still whip out an amazing dinner, I am a happy gal! I love Chicken. I love Sausage. And who doesn’t love pasta, right? Put these three key ingredients together and you have yourselves a fantastic dinner ideas. Breakfast and lunch are easy for me. I find looking for ideas and inspirations for those two meals is much more faster, but when it comes to dinner, I always find myself wondering the aisle at the market, trying to find something to cook. It’s just so much more harder for me. Are you the same way?
While dinner ideas are hard to come by, Grocery Outlets makes the shopping experience a pleasant one. I was able to make one shopping trip to the market and get what I didn’t have at home at a fraction of a price. Well, more on that later. Let’s check out the recipe.
Chicken for me is easy to cook, but my struggle is seasoning. One of my specialties is Chicken Adobo, Filipino style. The ingredients are easy; soy sauce, lemon and garlic. But to venture out of that, is something that I know I need to learn.
And Sausage, well… the possibilities are endless. Take a look at this recipe, that’s an inspiration from another recipe that I found, after spending hours online:
Chicken and Sausage Pasta
- 4 boneless, chicken breasts, cubed
- your favorite seasoning or this mixture: equal parts of onion powder, garlic salt! You can include cayenne pepper and paprika. I only added a little bit of both, since I know the kids don’t like it very much. And of course salt and pepper to taste!!
- 1 package of smoked sausage, thinly sliced
- 3 bell peppers that you like, thinly sliced
- 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 pack of sliced mushrooms
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 5 cups Chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp EVOO
- 1 box of your favorite pasta (I used spaghetti)
In a pot, cook chicken with EVOO on medium heat . Sprinkle seasoning over the cubed chicken and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Add sausage and saute. Cook for 10 minutes, until chicken is evenly cooked.
Once the meat is cooked, add the garlic, onion, peppers. Let that cook for 2 minutes. Then add the mushrooms, and stir for 3 minutes. Once you like the tenderness of the veggies, add the dry pasta to the pot, then pour in the chicken broth. Stir until everything is well-mixed. Cover the pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, keep covered, bring the heat down and simmer for 10 minutes. But, don’t go too far since you have to keep string often so that your pasta doesn’t stick together. If the 5 cups of broth doesn’t cover the pasta, you can add water to cover your ingredients. Just make sure you add some salt to taste. Lastly, add heavy cream and 1 cup of parmesan and mix well until all of your ingredients are well blended. You can add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Wow, this was so yummy. I could have this on a weekly basis.
Okay, so where did I shop for some of these fresh ingredients? Grocery Outlet is a new grocery store that’s taking SoCal by storm. I had the majority of the spices used in the recipe, other than that, all of the stuff I used was bought at Grocery Outlet. Their newest store just opened in the city of La Habra and last week, but I was able to check out their other store in the beautiful city of Azusa.
Well, I’ve mentioned to you before that I don’t mind driving out of my own area to get a great deal. And not just any deals. I’m talking savings upward of $20.00 or more. Want brand name items, they got it! Organic and gluten free? You bet! This is your one-stop shop for food, household and beauty items and even a wide selection of beer and wine.
If the La Habra and Azusa locations are too far for you, don’t worry!! Grocery Outlet is opening 15 more stores in the Orange County and Los Angeles counties by the end of 2016.. These locations will be scattered all over southern California, so sooner than later, you’ll have a location near you.
See you at a Grocery Outlet real soon!!!
