Delicious Meals at El Carbonero
Come one, come all. Let’s go eat comida!
There’s something about comfort food that makes the world feel a whole lot better. Food from El Salvador, for me, is just that. Comfort food. Pupusas, yucca and tamales. I mean, there’s something about those words that make your mouth water. El Carbonero restaurant in Santa Ana has provided homecooked meals for more than 30 years. 30 years!!!!
I recently went to El Carbonero restaurant with several social influencers and we have a plethora of classic Salvadoran foods. Meals included pork, fish and shrimp. Take a look:
Yucca with Pork was amazing. The Shrimp tostada looked beautiful and the tamale was moist and my goodness, oh so good. Oh, and this was my first time eating a Salvadoran tamale. It is so different than a Mexican tamale but it’s still tasty. The chicken was flavorful, the garbanzo beans were soft and added a different texture to the tamale. It was just real good food.
For me, I can eat pupusas all day, every day. El Carbonero restaurant’s food is fresh. It’s clean and made to order. The dishes are HUGE! HUGE!! You have to come hungry. There isn’t a dish that doesn’t come filled with comida from left to right. Look at the shrimp! It’s hanging off the plate!! The dinner was sponsored by Chefs’ Toys. Chefs’ Toys is the premier store for restaurant equipment. With several stores located all over SoCal, you can shop for quality kitchen supplies for your home or restaurant.
El Carbonero is located at 803 S Main St, Santa Ana, CA 92701 Phone:(714) 542-6653.
