ALDI: Your Easy-to-Shop Grocery Store!

This post was sponsored by ALDI as part of Influencer Activation for Influence Central.

How many times do you go to the market per week? As a stay at home mom, I’ve mastered the many of ways to shop for my familia. I’ve done bulk shopping. I’ve done meal planning and prepping. I’ve done sporadic, impulsive shopping. I’ve tried shopping on a budget, shopping for just snacks for after school, I’ve also gone all out and grocery shopped my little heart out.  For my family, I like to keep my options open. Oh, and I like to keep the places where I shop, open too. Where the sales are, I am there! Grocery shopping for a family of five isn’t always budget friendly, but hey! We gotta eat, right?

With summer vacation starting for us in 2 and half weeks, I already know that my shopping bill will almost double since the kids will be home. Does that happen to you too? The kids eat twice as much when the summer-induced boredom sets in.

ALDI: Your Easy-to-Shop Grocery Store!

I heard on the news that Before your trip to the store and I was excited because I have heard of the famous ALDI through family and friends. The first stores were still far from me so I had to wait patiently for the stores to open in Orange County.  The closest store is the ALDI located in Anaheim.

My first impression of the store was that it ‘s clean and well stocked and organized.

Oh wait, REWIND!

Before your trip to the store, make sure you bring a quarter. Why? Well, the store offers shopping carts, but in order to eliminate shopping carts scattered all over the parking lot, to pass savings on to their customers, you have to pay 25 cents to get a cart. Then when you’re done, you get your coin back.  Also, make sure you bring reusable shopping bags. ALDI does offer paper and plastic bags, but they are into being GREEN, and passing savings on to their customers, so they do not offer shopping bags for free. Instead, plastic bags are 15 cents while paper bags are .5 or .10 cents. I forget.

Ok, back to the store.

The kids went shopping with me and they were equally impressed with how low the prices are.  I always make sure they know about prices. Soon enough, my son will have to go grocery shopping for his troop when they go camping and I want him to make wise decisions when it comes to buying groceries at the store.  I’ve said many times before, I really don’t mind buying generic items for as long as I can spend less money.  Check out our shopping trip:

What I like most about our shopping trip is the fruit I bought. We’ve been hit with the smoothie bug and we make smoothies every night. The fruit at ALDI is fresh and the prices are fantastic! We’re talking about .35 cents a lb. for bananas! I went CRAZY with the bananas, since it’s the base of our smoothies and one can’t have too many strawberries, right? My poor banana

My poor bananas. The kids put the groceries away, while I went to the front of the store to put the cart away.
