Did you know that, on average, more than 350 Americans are diagnosed with skin cancer every hour? If that doesn’t make you think before you head out today, how about this: Melanoma is the third most common form of cancer in adults ages 25-39. As if that’s not enough of a reason for compliance, sun exposure extends beyond skin cancer, and regular use of broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher can help protect against skin aging. You can #chooseskinhealth!
Living in Southern California, not getting some sun exposure is difficult. As I write this blog post, we’re in the middle of a weekend heatwave that has us running for the hills. It was well over 100 degrees today, and tomorrow, it will be hotter. Ugh! The kids just got out of school and they are itching to go out and play and most of all, be in the pool!!! I don’t blame them. I wanted to be doing the same thing when I was their age, but the risk is just too much.
Just a few (1-2) bad sunburns as a child almost doubles the risk of skin cancer.
A recent study published in JAMA Pediatrics shows that engaging young children through interactive sun safety programs can help increase sun protection behaviors and reduce the risk of developing skin cancer later in life. This is why Neutrogena is a key leader when it comes to teaching parents how to protect themselves and their kids!
Choose Skin Health is a site that provides resources in, English and Spanish, on how we can protect ourselves when we’re out in the sun. There you can get:

My son had a scouting event over the weekend that ending up with a family meet at the local community pool. I was pleased to see how many people use at least one form of Neutrogena sunscreen. It proves that people trust Neutrogena and the sun protection it provides.
Happy Summer!
