Laundry. Some say it’s the never-ending story. For me, it’s a job that’s never really finished. With three kids, the laundry basket is never empty. Two of the three kids are scouts. In particular, a Boy Scout. My son just ranked into Boy Scouts and he is having the time of his life. He loved being a part of the big boys’ group. In the few short months of becoming a Boy Scout, he’s already camped and hiked twice. Both occasions were firsts for him and for me. I’m no longer allowed to be hovering like when he was a cubby. I’m learning to, little by little, let go of the little hand that no longer wants to hold mine.

He’s making memories left and right, and making a mess out of it too! His scouting uniform is what he wears every week. I need to take care of this uniform since it’s the pride and joy of his life right now. Not to mention it cost an arm and a leg!! I’ve sewn on every patch and buttoned every button, but when it comes to making sure it’s clean and well kept, well… that’s a different story!

This is his uniform. After camp, goodness gracious, this is one article of clothing that I did not WANT TO TOUCH with a ten foot pole. It was filthy, dingy, gross, smelly, sticky (omgoodness, so sticky) and not the same color I sent it off in. If you have a scout in your home, then I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

I’ve taken special precautions when it comes to caring for his uniform. Shirt and shorts go in the wash, inside out. I make sure everything is cleared from pockets and that his patches are still tightly secured so that they don’t run off with the lost pair of socks that seem to disappear in the washer or dryer.

I take care of my son and OxiClean™ HD™ Laundry Detergent takes care of his uniform. See, I’m as frugal as they come. When I see a bargain, I go for it. But sometimes, paying a little more to get better results is what I need to do if I want to preserve clothing for a long time.

OxiClean and Everyday Family Life

Having kids who wear uniforms on a daily basis, whether it be for school or scouting, is truly a game changer-for being open to trying new products. Once you try OxiClean™ HD Laundry Detergent, you’ll notice the difference right away. I’ve actually been using OxiClean™ HD™ Laundry Detergent for my laundry for about a year now and it has served me well.

Happy Laundry!
