When you think of fat reduction, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Lipo? Surgery? Before visiting CosmetiCare in Newport Beach, those two procedures came to mind. I know several people who had Lipo and/or some sort of surgical procedure done to eliminate fat. They look amazing now, and it’s something that maybe, just maybe, I’d think about, but what if I don’t want to go that route? Downtime? A surgical procedure? Aftercare?

Last week I told you about my final Kybella treatment for my enormous double chin. You can read about (and see before and after pictures!) here! To compliment the work Kybella did on my chin, CosmetiCare recommended we try out truSculpt.
What is truSculpt?
truSculpt is an FDA-approved procedure that’s designed to address problem areas like the thighs, abdomen, buttocks, and flanks and yes, even the chin! truSculpt was offered to me after the results from Kybella proved that my chin could use a little more work. Like I said before, truSculpt is basically complementing Kybella!

How does truSculpt work?
truSculpt is much more easier to tolerate than Kybella. If you watched the videos then you know Kybella is injected (multiple injections!) into your chin. truSculpt is not an injectable but a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure that makes use of Radio Frequency (RF) technology to basically ZAP your fat away.
This is the wand that is used. There are different attachments for different areas of your body. This one is for your chin.
When you come in for a truSculpt treatment at CosmetiCare, you’ll be greeted by Lisa! She’s a licensed esthetician and she is nothing short of FABULOUS! You’ll be taken to the treatment room and you get to sit in a comfy bed that’s been raised for your comfort. As Lisa gets ready, she’ll be sharing and talking with you about the procedure and what to expect. Next is the hardest part of it all.
She’ll take the wand (for this instance, to your chin!) and adjusted to make sure she has the perfect target area covered. The wand get hotter and hotter. How hot the wands gets, depends on you. I like what Pattie said in her post,
“I highly suggest you suck it up and go as high as you can. After all, you’re spending some serious money on this procedure, and you want to see maximum results.”
I completely agree! You know the saying, right? Beauty is pain! Well, this is not really painful, but it is H O T!!!! See, I even used red so you can see that I mean business! I was able to tolerate 46 celsious. That’s a tempurature of 114 Fahrenheit ON MY CHIN! Crazy, I know! But I want to get the results I want and if this is what it takes, so be it! Lisa provides a little fan to help cool things off. See how nice she is? Love HER!!!

Each session lasts about 4 mins and the wand works its way to peak heat. What I mean is that it gets warm, then hot, then down a little warmer and it climbs a little more until you reach the highest temp YOU can tolerate. Esentially, the hotter the better. The whole appointment takes less tha an hour and all you are left with is a patch of redness which totally disappears in a couple of hours.
I’ve had 2 treatments done. My 2nd treatment was last week, so there is no difference yet, but…
