Cheating in the Name of Love #StreamTeam

How many of you Netflix binge with your hubby or wife? My husband and I have really gotten hooked on some shows and have literally binged a show, non-stop, beginning to end.  Have you done that? Come on now, be real! I think it’s the best. I love it when we get to watch a show together, whether we’ve seen it before or not. It’s the time we spend alone with each other is what I love most. I mean, I wouldn’t give that up if someone offered a night out. That’s the truth!  We have been smitten by a host of shows, but what happens when one can’t watch because of whatever reason? Do you keep going? Do you stop? Yes, this is very important in a marriage.

Do you go ahead and binge-cheat?

I mean, it’s up there with infidelity and lying.  This is serious stuff people.

My husband works outside the home, I don’t. He sleeps early, I don’t.  He likes naps, I don’t. The temptation is there and I have fallen victim to cheating. More times than I care to admit.

See, I can control myself when he’s home, the problem is when he’s not home. It’s even worse when I’m alone with nothing to do. I’ve binge-cheated with Call the Midwife, Chef’s Table, Gilmore Girls and Friends and several other shows….

Once I start I can’t stop. I tried and I failed. One episode after another, I become unstoppable. Please, please, please tell me I’m not the only one.  Even the kids aren’t safe from the cheating! When we started watching Once Upon a Time, I would watch episodes while they were in school.

I think I have a problem, familia.

I appreciate your bravery…LOL. Great post once again. The times I have “cheated” its only come back to bite me in the end because my wife still wants to watch those episodes and as payback, I have to answer tons of questions about what’s going on – it’s much better to be clueless about what’s happening in an episode – together. But we do have our “cheat days” because the fact of the matter is, there is stuff she is into that I don’t care for and vice versa which sometimes can be nice.

If I may, there are a couple of Netflix shows that we binged that you might find good too

    – Luke Cage (if you are into Marvel Superheros but are looking for something a little grown up – not for the kids)
    – Master of None (hilarious, Golden Globe winning show)
    – Portlandia (quirky, off the beaten path comedy)
    – Black Mirror (hands down one of our favorite shows)
    – The OA (has to be experienced)
