Women Rock! #StreamTeam
Having strong women in my familia gives me strength. My mom, sister, tias and primas, all have been very influential in my life. And you know what? They continue to be a blessing to both me and the strong young lady that I am raising. It’s essential when you’re growing up Latina. See, all the women in my life are still in my life and my daughter is growing up with them too. I love that. I love that she gets to see how amazing it is to be a woman. A strong Latina woman. I hope one day, she’ll be able to say the same of me. Wow, I think that’s the first time I’ve ever written that. Scary!!! haha
This month, we honored women all over the world. Young and old, past and present. International Women’s Day was celebrated all over the world and Netflix has some amazing shows that have beautiful, courageous women in the forefront. I personally love shows with strong female leads like Gilmore Girls, The Crown and we must not forget my favorite show, Grey’s Anatomy.
My daughter loves watching the girls in Project Mc2. She may think she just watched the girls on the show because it’s a great show, but I’ve caught her a few times using some words in Spanish. When I ask her where she learned those particular words, she gives credit to the smart Latina girl in the group, Adrienne Atoms. See! Amazing girls everywhere and these amazing girls turn into phenomenal women.
Girls ROCK! Women ROCK!
Now, one of my idols of all times has been Julie Andrews. It’s my dream to meet her. Well, last week, Julie Andrews made her Netflix debut in Julie’s Greenroom. Brought to life by the Jim Henson Company, the enriching show advocates for the arts and the positive impact creativity can have on every child’s life. With an array of very special guests (Idina Menzel, Sara Bareilles and Alec Baldwin to name a few), Julie’s Greenroom might be a show you turn on for the kids but find yourself staying until the final curtain call.
Check out the trailer. It’s super sweet!
Isn’t Julie wonderful? Ugh, I wish I still had little ones to show this to.
