There was a commercial not too long ago, where a couple would see different scenarios with different families and they would look at each other and say “We will never be like that!” Do you know what I’m talking about? My husband and I have done that. Little did we know, we’d totally become the family that we thought we’d never be.
Family of 4 or 5? Nope! Life in OC? No way! Be a stay-at-home mom? Uh, nah! Drive a van? Ummm? An SUV? Well????
I didn’t think we would have more kids after our first, we had 2 more. I didn’t know how much I would miss living close to Los Angeles, until we moved to the OC. Even after I had my first, I went back to work and it wasn’t until my 2nd child, did I stop working. We had a nice sedan, until we outgrew it and then came the SUV because we ended up growing out of the van too. See!!! We totally became that family!
This is why never say never!
We went to visit family up north again. We went to visit my father-in-law, who’s here for vacation and like all trips, we had to make the 5 hour drive. When it comes to traveling as a family of 5, who has one giant of a teenager, comfort is a must. Enter the Mitsubishi Outlander GT.
I mean, how can we not be comfortable, with 7-passenger seating, we had room to spare. Second comes safety and style. Riding in style is a win-win with this vehicle. It’s sleek and drives easily. What’s under the hood is more interesting for my husband. He was excited about the upgraded performance features, that included a 224hp V6 engine, 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and well, it was great on the road. And with a starting price tag of $23,495, what’s not to like, right?
We’ve had our fair share of cars and this was a great car. We all fit perfectly. The giant teen had plenty of leg room and the seats, for the long stretch of road were comfortable. But how does it fair in everyday life?
I love my space. I love my family too, but my space is sacred. When all of us are in any car, we take up the first 2 rows, so truck space is huge for me. Some days I do fill out a lot of trunk space and other days, I just need a little room for random stuff. Yep, like laundry!
Check out some more detail:
- 224-hp, 3.0-liter MIVEC V6 engine
- Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)
- Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist
- 710-watt Rockford-Fosgate® premium audio system with 9 speakers
- 7.0″ Smartphone Link Display Audio System with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™
- Leather seating surfaces
- Power remote liftgate
- Power glass sunroof
Sadly, we only had the Mitsubishi Outlander for a week. Still, it was enough to get used to the smooth drive and upgraded features.
Gracias Mitsubishi for the great ride. Until we meet again!
