Halloween is tomorrow and guess what, SoCal!!?!?! We have rain in the forecast! Now normally I would be happy about this, but… and there is a big BUT here… it is Halloween. And I didn’t know if your kids are like my kids, but they wait the entire year in order to celebrate trick-or-treating and no one wants to damper the spirit of Halloween. We will have to wait and see what Mother Nature will bring us tomorrow but in the occasion in which it does rain and we do have to spend the night in, I want to tell you all about how to prepare a movie night with your handy-dandy phone.
Let’s say you’re giving out candy this year and you just want to Halloween party, well, it’s so easy to put your own party together with the help of the Movies Anywhere app. They have movies for the adults in your life and they have movies for the kids in your life. They have scary scary scary movies and they have movies that kids can tolerate of all ages. Which is what I really like because when you have a get-together and you invite families with kids of all ages then you know you need to be prepared for whatever movie. One feature that’s great about this app is the flexibility to add movies that you’ve already bought. We’re an Android familia and it was super easy to connect my GooglePlay and watch on my TV, phone or tablet!
We got a chance to test out the app and we saw the movie The Mummy! Now, if you’re a 90s kid li ke me then you know that there was a movie way back when. I absolutely loved The Mummy with hottie Brendan Fraser, and it was something that I knew I wanted to show my kids because it is a classic, right?
In 2007 Tom Cruise, also made a movie called The Mummy and right off the bat we noticed that it was way more darker than the original movie. So, in all honesty I think you should read any kind of reviews and the kind of ratings that comes with along with movies. This is rated PG-13 but it was still heavy even for me to watch at times. So I knew that right off the bat (
So I suggest you check out the trailers make sure you know what you’re going to show your kids beforehand because you don’t want to freak out your kids especially on Halloween. We still got to see the movie, well, my husband and I did, and it’s actually a pretty good movie. There’s thrills and adventure throughout the whole movie. What I liked about the movies was the mixture of comedy (although sometimes it was crude!) and the scary parts. It kinda offset the special effects (omg, WOW) from the evil Egyptian princess.
The Mummy: An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.
Once you have your movie going, well, it’s time to party! Check out our fun mummy-licious treats!
We are big fans of movie night and Halloween is no different. I love that I was able to search up some GREAT mummy ideas for my party. Aren’t they so cute!
Happy Halloween!
This is not a paid post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was sent a movie code and a gift card to shop for our mummy party.
